Cllr John Farebrother

John Farebrother lives on Ribblesdale Road and has represented Furzedown as a Labour Councillor since May 1998. He was Mayor of Wandsworth in 2008 - the borough's first Labour Mayor since the 1970s.

As well as being an active member of St James’ Church, Mitcham Lane (and a pastoral care worker there), John is also a Trustee of the Furzedown Project. He campaigns hard to improve health and care services locally and serves on the council's Health Committee, overseeing the local NHS.

John works hard to represent the interests of Furzedown residents and to ensure that the Council addresses the needs of the community he has lived in all his life. He is a keen cricketer and still plays and is chairman of a local cricket club.
